There is not just one type of perfectionism; there are in fact three different categories of perfectionism. The three categories included self-oriented, other-oriented, and socially prescribed perfectionism. Self-oriented perfectionism refers to an individual that sets and seeks high standards of performance for themselves (Chang, 2006).
